Local organisations are being invited to discover how sustainability can help them secure new contracts, reduce costs, and strengthen their competitive position at a business breakfast hosted by Grimsby Community Energy.
Going Green To Win More Work will take place at the Hampton by Hilton Humberside Airport on Thursday 5 March, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, bringing together businesses from across North East Lincolnshire and the wider region.
Hosted by local not-for-profit cooperative Grimsby Community Energy, the event will explore how environmental action is increasingly influencing procurement decisions, supply chains, and client expectations. Delegates will hear practical, real-world insights into how businesses of all sizes can respond in ways that support commercial success without adding unnecessary cost or complexity.
Following breakfast on arrival, Dr Vicky Dunn, Managing Director of Grimsby Community Energy, will deliver a short presentation outlining how sustainability is becoming a key factor in winning contracts and maintaining strong client relationships. The session will also include an interactive discussion, giving attendees the opportunity to share experiences, explore challenges, and identify practical next steps for their own organisations.
Clive Wilson of UNA Greater Lincolnshire will also speak, highlighting how practical business actions align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and how these frameworks are increasingly relevant in today’s commercial environment.
Dr Vicky Dunn, Managing Director of Grimsby Community Energy, said:
“I’m really looking forward to this event and to speaking with local businesses about how sustainability can help them win more work. We’re seeing more and more organisations asked to demonstrate their environmental credentials as part of procurement processes. This event is about showing that taking practical steps doesn’t have to be complicated or costly — and that local businesses can turn this into a genuine competitive advantage. We want everyone to leave feeling confident about the opportunities ahead and the simple actions they can take.”
Grimsby Community Energy has been working with organisations across the region to help reduce energy costs through locally owned renewable energy, while supporting wider economic and community benefit.
The event is open to businesses of all sizes, from sole traders to larger employers, and is particularly relevant to those who supply larger organisations, public sector bodies, or organisations with sustainability requirements.
