Energy Heroes
In partnership with Energy Heroes, Grimsby Community Energy delivered energy-focused assemblies and lessons at 5 local junior schools.
The most inspiring quote came from a mum in Immingham, where pupils made an exhibition of their work:
“I thought my daughter was being annoying turning things off, then I realised I usually put £15 on the electricity meter every Saturday – but actually I had a couple of days left. Then I got it!”
Northern Powergrid visited with their “power cut response van” which can support vulnerable residents in a power cut – for instance by heating food or refrigerating medicines. They also signed up some residents to their priority service register.
