Our Big Picture – Art Warming Donation of our Community Benefit Fund

Our Big Picture is an arts and heritage social enterprise, who deliver positive, inclusive experiences, including exhibitions in public spaces, workshops, heritage events, online activities and art communities.

Our Big Picture now expect warmer rooms and cheaper bills after they have insulated their loft.

The Ellwood Cottages on Bethlehem St are the oldest commercial buildings in Grimsby still in use – since 1780.  They are a grade II listed building.

Monica Chatterton, building project manager, said:

“This donation from Grimsby Community Energy plus Smarter Energy grant has enabled us to insulate the cottages to help offset the heating bills, whilst at the same time supports our Charity in addressing  its carbon footprint”.

The funding came partly from us at Grimsby Community Energy, Director Vicky Dunn said:

“Running our solar PV projects since 2016 has made a small surplus for community benefit.  When we met Our Big Picture we found a perfect opportunity to help with their energy bills, and insulation is such a hot topic at the moment.   As we develop more solar projects, we’ll create more money for to help other organisations in this way.”
